The Village Fete
Jack always came first in the vegetable section of the village fete competition and this year was no different. Rob walked up and down the cloth covered trestle tables sighing and tutting at the array of red 1 st rosettes against his rival’s name. He looked ceiling ward, it was a warm day in June and the marquee roof ruffled slightly in the breeze. He would LOVE to know Jack’s secret. Rob walked up and down again, the best he had done was in the tomato section, getting a third. Of course, Jacks tomatoes stole the show, and the first in category!
